Needham Montessori School believes in the development of the whole child: socially, emotionally, cognitively, and physically. The child learns at his/her pace and is encouraged to be responsible, independent, curious, caring, and creative. The child is given frequent opportunities to make decisions about their learning. Students are expected to understand, appreciate, respect, and work cooperatively with peers.
If you look around, you will see all the materials for Practical Life, Sensorial, Math, language, Science, Art, Botany, Geography and Music presented at the child’s level. Through lessons and guidance, children are taught the correct way to use the materials. Children work at tables or the floor using mats to keep materials clean and in a defined space.
Once the morning work cycle is underway, you will notice the buzz of children working in a controlled environment. Children are respectful of others through grace and courtesy. A community of learners prospers.
